Diabetes Footcare

Diabetes foot care is the most common condition treated at St Agnes Podiatry. People with diabetes are at higher risk of developing foot problems due to complications such as neuropathy (nerve damage), poor circulation, and a higher susceptibility to infections. At St Agnes Podiatry, we play a crucial role in managing and preventing these issues by providing regular foot assessments, education on foot care practices, and treating any foot problems that may arise. We help diabetic patients maintain healthy feet to prevent complications that could lead to more serious conditions, such as ulcers or amputations. At your initial appointment we will

  • Test foot sensation

  • Assess blood flow to the feet

  • Identify and treat nail and skin problems

  • Review footwear for fit and function

  • Provide diabetes foot care education

  • Send communication to your GP upon request

A diabetes foot assessment is used to assess the foot health of individuals with diabetes and is recommended every 12 months by the Diabetes Association.
